DRIVING TESTS AND LESSONS SUSPENDED DURING LOCKDOWN

Driving tests and driving lessons suspended during lockdown

Driver and rider tests will be suspended again from December 20th until further notice in tier 4

In addition, the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) has said that as well as examinations, driver training will be suspended over the same timeframe. It means that learners will be able to book driving lessons with a certified instructor but not be able to take lessons in tier 4 or 5, lessons can continue in tiers 1, 2 and 3

In a statement, it said: “Following the Government announcement on tougher national restrictions must be enforced, driver and rider training and tests will be suspended in England from 6th January.

“We will be providing further guidance and contacting those affected as soon as we can.”

“Thousands of driving instructors within England now find themselves unable to work as of Wednesday 6th January across the uk for the duration of the national lockdown, and we will be working closely with our franchisees to support them, as we did last time.

“The industry is still playing catch up from high demand after the last lockdown was lifted, this again will create requests for driving lessons when we are able to return to teaching, we recommend pupils speak to their instructor to quickly reschedule lessons.
